Hi I’m Sully, a travel agent in New Jersey. For almost 20 years, I have been a high school history teacher. While I loved my profession, my passion for traveling kept making me want to shift gears and pursue my lifelong dream. So, I launched my new career as a home-based travel agent!
My decision was predicated on several factors, but mostly my amazing family. My husband and I were fortunate enough to have a rambunctious son, who, we thought, made us the 3 musketeers. Fate, however, had a different plan and in 2020 we were very much surprised with twins! Now our family was complete!
I’ve traveled to over 25 countries in my lifetime and I’ve learned so much from each place that I knew I had to share. Between the stories I’ve collected over the years in the classroom (way too many) and of my travels with students (😬) and without, I have enough content to write about for years!
Life As A Travel Agent in New Jersey
I’ve enjoyed planning and arranging individual trips like honeymoons & family vacations, as well as group travel, like destination weddings (my specialty). As a teacher, I organized and planned student groups that traveled all over the world! It really was so rewarding to see my students thrive outside of the classroom. And when I wanted to extend that to others, I knew what I had to do!
I’m a true Type A personality…sort of no-nonsense, cut-to-the-chase, and I specialize in working with clients who expect the best, want it done now, and want it done right. I like to say “I’m a perfectionist about your trip so you don’t have to be.” This attitude served me well as a teacher, and it has given me the confidence to thrive as a travel agent! When I’m not planning travel for my clients, I’m chasing after these crazy kids or sneaking some getaway time with my favorite travel buddy (my husband). When we can escape, my amazing team (we’re a family business) holds down the fort for the biz and at home! I wouldn’t be able to do what I do without them!
