Boutique Luxury in Paradise: Your Antigua Honeymoon

Antigua is perfect for your Antigua honeymoon. It’s not just about the 365 beaches. There are lush rainforests, vibrant culture, and incredible diving spots. Imagine snorkeling or scuba diving in clear waters. And the food? Beachside dinners are a must. After your wedding, choosing the right honeymoon spot is crucial. Many couples are looking at Antigua – and it’s easy to see why. Is Antigua on your list?

Antigua honeymoon

Antigua was a stop on my honeymoon cruise, and I can tell you, it’s just as beautiful as it looks. The beaches are stunning, and snorkeling in the clear waters was a highlight for us. If you’re considering an Antigua honeymoon, trust me, it won’t disappoint.

Is Antigua Good For Couples?

Yes! It is more of an adults-only island. So if you were looking for a place with no water parks or a lot of kid zones, this is it. Antigua, in the heart of the Caribbean’s Antigua and Barbuda, offers everything you need for an amazing honeymoon. Gorgeous beaches, wonderful weather, and friendly locals. It has everything you need to take your romance to the next level.

You’ll enjoy walking hand in hand on white sandy beaches, the warm Caribbean breeze in your hair, and breathtaking sunsets coloring your evenings. Antigua is tailor-made for a romantic couples retreat.

Beaches Galore And Lots More

Antigua stands out as an exceptional choice for your honeymoon destination. This Caribbean gem has 365 beaches, giving you endless options for your romantic escape. But Antigua’s charm goes beyond its sandy shores.

Unlike some neighboring destinations that draw spring breakers and cruise crowds, Antigua attracts more discerning and sophisticated travelers who seek a more refined and tranquil experience.

If you are looking for a little more upscale honeymoon, Antigua is perfect for you!

Unlike the party-centric spots packed with rowdy spring breakers, Antigua offers a peaceful retreat. Here, you can immerse yourself in luxury resorts, enjoy quiet walks on secluded beaches, and dine at world-class restaurants without the hustle and bustle. The island’s sophisticated vibe attracts couples who appreciate fine dining, cultural experiences, and serene landscapes.

So, as you plan your dream honeymoon, Antigua promises a honeymoon experience that will forever linger in your hearts with its unparalleled natural beauty and romantic ambiance.

When Is the Best Time To Go To Antigua

Antigua’s climate is a major draw for tourists, but my favorite time to go is January to April because it has the warmest weather. Being from the north east, I’m always looking for an escape from winter.

Antigua honeymoon

In the winter, you can enjoy pleasant temperatures in the mid-70s – great for romantic beach walks and outdoor adventures. Summers bring slightly warmer highs in the upper 80s, adding a touch of warmth to your tropical escape. It doesn’t get oppressively hot like some of the other Caribbean islands.

Honeymoon Musts In Antigua

While Antigua may be a small island, measuring just 14 miles in length and 11 miles in width, its size won’t limit your exploration opportunities. In fact, it’s part of the island’s charm – regardless of where you decide to stay, there are chances plenty of things to do that will keep your honeymoon exciting.

You can actually tour the entire island in one day. But if you want to break it down here are my recommendations.

Stingray City Antigua

Stingray City Antigua is a popular attraction for honeymooners. Snorkeling here is a favorite activity for many visitors. The warm, shallow waters are filled with stingrays gliding around you, offering a unique experience to see these incredible creatures up close in their natural habitat. Plus, the clear waters and vibrant marine life provide the perfect romantic backdrop for your best honeymoon Instagram pics.

Half Moon Bay

Half Moon Bay is one of Antigua’s finest beaches, accessible from most honeymoon hotels. You will instantly fall in love with this secluded paradise featuring pristine white sands and crystal-clear waters. You can also engage in windsurfing, boogie boarding, or simply relax on the shore with rented lounge chairs, savoring the company of your loved one.

Another popular location is Jolly Beach which is a great place to get some food! And also, Dickinson’s Bay. Try Dickinson’s Bay Beach Bar for some fresh and delicious seafood! And of course, rum making! How fun does a rum-making tour sound for your honeymoon?!

Devil’s Bridge National Park

Make your honeymoon stand out with a visit to Devil’s Bridge National Park. This spot, shaped by centuries of Atlantic Ocean tides, is truly unique. The natural limestone arch was formed over time by the relentless waves crashing against the shore. The park is also home to dramatic blowholes that shoot seawater high into the air, creating a spectacular display.

Devil’s Bridge

Walking along the rugged coastline, you’ll be struck by the raw beauty and power of nature. It’s a great place for some unforgettable photos for the gram and a refreshing break from the usual beach scenes. Devil’s Bridge is definitely worth adding to your Antigua itinerary.

Long Bay Beach

Long Bay Beach is another snorkeling hotspot in Antigua, ideal for exploring abundant tropical fish and coral. But you must bring your snorkeling gear too to discover this beach’s underwater wonders. By the way, this beach has the softest white sand beach, you’ll feel like a celebrity here!

St. John

If shopping is on your agenda during your Antigua honeymoon, St. John’s is the place to be. Explore boutique stores and malls, pick souvenirs, and stroll through historic buildings. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the Museum of Antigua and Barbuda for a cultural experience.

You can tour the city on a segway for fun. If you are there for a night they also have an amazing night cruise to try!

Nelson’s Dockyard

If you’re up for some added excitement, plan your visit to Nelson’s Dockyard on a Sunday evening to join the locals in music, food, and cocktails. Nelson’s Dockyard is a historic site and marina in English Harbour. Originally built in the 18th century, this restored Georgian-era dockyard was once a strategic naval base for the British Royal Navy.

During the day, by bike if you like, explore the Dockyard Museum housed in the former Admiral’s House. Wander through the shops like Copper & Lumber Store Historic Inn, where you can pick up local crafts and souvenirs. It’s also a cute place to stay. Oh, and don’t miss the Dockyard Bakery, for some fresh pastries and coffee.

For dinner, head to Boom, a restaurant with a fantastic view of the harbor with dishes like jerk chicken and freshly caught seafood. Sip on a rum punch or a local Wadadli beer, and soak in the live music and steel drums.

An Island of Adventure

While Antigua offers plenty of opportunities for romance and relaxation, it’s also a place for thrilling adventure. An Antigua Rainforest Zipline Tour is a must-visit place. Enjoy an exhilarating journey through the treetops, spanning gorges and immersing you in the rainforest using a combination of 13 zip lines (ranging from 52 to 328 feet in length), three aerial walkways, a treehouse, and two suspension bridges.
